Going for yellow

At SKIL, we’re big cycling fans and we have a deep-rooted connection to the world of professional cycling. Read more about that here. Now, let’s dive into our predictions for Visma | Lease a Bike’s first week in the Tour de France 2025!

The line-up is packed with talent. Two-time Tour winner Jonas Vingegaard leads the team, supported by Matteo Jorgenson, Wout van Aert, and Giro champion Simon Yates. With Affini, Benoot, Kuss, and Campenaerts completing the squad, it’s a team built to win, in every terrain.

Many chances, many risks

The Tour kicks off in Lille with a flat stage; ideal for sprinters, but also a chance for Wout van Aert to take yellow. Stage two's hilly finish suits him just as well. The opening week is a mix of sprint opportunities and punchy, technical finales that could catch GC (general classification) riders off guard.

The first big GC test comes on July 9 with an individual time trial; a moment for Vingegaard and other contenders to make their mark. Visma | Lease a Bike brings serious time trial strength with Van Aert, Jorgenson, Affini, and Campenaerts. Two hilly stages follow, then a sprint-friendly weekend. On July 14, Bastille Day, the first true mountain showdown awaits, where Vingegaard and Jorgenson can show their climbing form.
