April 30, 2025 – Breda, Netherlands — Last year, SKIL celebrated their 100-year anniversary. A heritage filled with changes, successes and innovations. This milestone offered the perfect opportunity to deeply reflected on SKIL’s history. Now in 2025, one historic event has received a breath of new air: SKIL’s deep-rooted connection to the world of professional cycling, including a celebrated chapter in the Tour de France.
As the founder of the circular saw back in 1924, SKIL revolutionised the power tool industry by introducing cutting edge technology and a future-focussed approach empowering professionals-especially the next generations of makers. This vision mirrors the values within the cycling world, where performance, commitment and resilience define the sport.

It was a logical step to team up and deepen the connection to the cycling world by launching SKIL-Sem. Active in the highest levels of the cycling world, this team included riders such as Sean Kelly. A well-known name in the cycling world who brought global recognition to SKIL through his victories and exceptional performances in the Tour de France, turning the SKIL-Sem jersey into an iconic symbol.

SKIL made a reappearance in the cycling world around 2010 through sponsorships with the SKIL-Shimano team. The team competed in numerous international races, once again bringing the SKIL brand to millions of cycling fans across Europe and beyond.

After a few years away from the sport, SKIL announced in December 2024 its new role as main sponsor of JEGG–SKIL–DJR, a team focused on developing young talent. This partnership reflects SKIL’s enduring commitment to the future—both in cycling and in the world of tools.

On April 24th 2025, SKIL announced their return into the professional world of cycling by sponsoring the Tour de France 2025, with its logo once again being visible on both sleeves. This collaboration with Team Visma | Lease a Bike completes the cycle of the dedication and connection SKIL has with the sport. As history shows, cycling is rooted deeply into SKIL’s core.
Cycling is more than just a sport—it’s a powerful symbol of determination, innovation, and teamwork. These values mirror the very principles that drive SKIL’s approach to product design and brand identity. Just as cyclists push their limits to reach the finish line, SKIL relentlessly pursues improvement, precision, and performance in everything we create. From the drawing board to the workbench, we challenge ourselves to go further—pushing boundaries and delivering excellence isn’t just a goal; it’s our standard.
At SKIL, we believe that high-quality tools should be accessible to all makers—whether you're a seasoned professional, a passionate DIYer, or someone just beginning their journey. That’s why we continue to support creators around the globe with a wide-ranging lineup of reliable, user-friendly tools built for real performance. With the integration of advanced brushless technology—now even in more affordable models—we prove that innovation doesn’t have to come at a premium price. Choosing SKIL means choosing tools that are built to perform, built to last, and built for everyone.
The curtain has fallen on both the 2025 Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes. After four weeks of world-class racing, from flat sprint stages to brutal climbs in the Pyrenees and Alps, Team Visma | Lease a Bike, proudly supported by SKIL, has delivered a series of standout performances across both events. It’s been a month to remember.
