The first rest day of the 2025 Tour de France has arrived. After ten intense stages, it’s time for riders to catch their breath, reflect on the past week, and prepare for what’s next. For Team Visma | Lease a Bike, proudly supported by SKIL, it’s a perfect moment to look back and ahead.
From the very beginning, the team has shown strength and unity. Thanks to powerful teamwork, team leader Jonas Vingegaard finished on the podium in stages 2, 4, and 7. Matteo Jorgenson has also proven his excellent form, always alert and ready to take on leadership.
Stage 5 featured the first time trial of the Tour, where European champion Edoardo Affini impressed with a strong third place. While the day didn’t go as planned for Vingegaard and Jorgenson, the team stayed focused on the bigger picture. That resilience paid off in stage 10: Simon Yates joined an early breakaway, supported brilliantly by Victor Campenaerts. In the final kilometers, Yates launched a powerful solo attack, claiming the team’s first stage win of this year’s Tour.
After the rest day, the peloton heads toward the Pyrenees. First up is a tricky transitional stage with a punchy finale; the perfect terrain for riders like Wout van Aert, who already came close with a strong second place in stage 8.
Then it’s time for a brutal mountain block that will shape the GC battle. The climb to Hautacam brings back memories of the team’s 2022 Tour success and offers Vingegaard and Jorgenson a real test. The next day features a steep, short time trial to Peyragudes; a chance for redemption. And the queen stage? A spectacular mountain marathon over the Tourmalet, finishing on the legendary climb to Luchon-Superbagnères. The week ends with another transitional stage, a golden opportunity for attackers.
