SKIL launches webshop as part of omnichannel growth strategy

Breda, July 1, 2025 – SKIL, the brand that once invented the circular saw, is launching its own webshop on July 2 in the Netherlands, Germany, and France. This makes it possible for DIY and gardening enthusiasts to order directly from the brand, including access to tools and accessories that are sometimes hard to find locally. The webshop also offers detailed product information and customer reviews, all within the trusted SKIL environment.

“The webshop will be an extension of the existing brand experience, now also directly accessible to the end user”, says Ruben Nijssen, E-commerce Manager EMEA at SKIL. The decision to launch a webshop at this time is no coincidence. SKIL research shows that more than three-quarters of DIYers (78%) actively use the internet during the purchase process of power tools. With its own online channel, SKIL is responding directly to this behavior, making the brand’s trusted quality even more accessible.

The launch coincides with the start of the Tour de France, where SKIL is visible as a partner of Team Visma | Lease a Bike. To celebrate the opening of the webshop, SKIL is offering a limited-time promotion during the Tour: visitors receive a 25% discount on the entire range using the code SKILTDF25. The webshop will launch with around 60 products and will be gradually expanded over time. In this way, SKIL aims to make its full range available online throughout Europe, step by step. “We don’t see this as a replacement for our existing retail partners, but as an important addition, says Ruben Nijssen. “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to work with quality tools.”
