Detector for (non-)ferrous metal objects and live electric wires
The SKIL 0551 detector is designed for detection of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and for live electric wires in walls, ceilings and floors. This makes it the ideal help during DIY jobs such as drilling. Thanks to its one-button operation and automatic calibration function, the SKIL 0551 is always ready for immediate use. Simply switch on the detector and move it along the working surface. The large display shows one or several bars and a green, orange or red LED light to indicate the distance to the detected objects. You’ll also hear a clear acoustic signal when you’ve positioned the detector above a metal object. When a live electric wire is detected, you’re warned by a sign on the display, a flashing red LED light and a swift acoustic signal. For your convenience, the live wire detection mode is always active. To preserve battery life, the detector is automatically switched off after 10 minutes of inactivity. The SKIL 0551 is supplied with one 9V battery.
