COMMUNICATION IS KEY

For optimal battery protection, the patented Activcell™ technology constantly monitors the voltage, temperature and current. Unlike many batteries from other brands, the SKIL PWRCORE 20™ batteries don’t have a pre-defined shut-off protection threshold based on an average tool power consumption. Instead, the built-in Activcell™ technology continuously monitors the discharging data and sends this information in real time to each individual tool.

To achieve this, both the tool and battery are equipped with a printed circuit board (PCB). The two PCBs are designed to communicate with each other, enabling the tool to provide feedback to the battery regarding the amount of energy it needs for a particular job.

Thanks to this advanced battery and tool interaction, protective shut-off intervention takes place at exactly the right time, optimising power usage from the battery.
